Enter a 10 week journey of exploration. This hands on workshop focuses on you and your body in a series of physical and practical workshops.  Study the pilates mat repetrior, improve technique and gain skills that will last a lifetime.  


Learn about the principals of movement, anatomy and the Pilates method, and you will further your understanding of your body.  This course will improve your technique, connect your body to your mind and accelarate your fitness goals.  
Whether you are a mum, an office worker or a professional athlete this course will improve your personal skills and equip you with the knowledge for teaching Pilates mat work.

    Breath and Principals of Exercise
    Saturday - 1.30pm to 3.30pm
    Study and learn to apply the Principals of Pilates. Take brief walk through the history of Pilates and gain a full understanding of breath and the importance of the breath cycle. Study the fundamental mat exercise series

    Jun
    Unlock your body type and posture
    Saturday 1.30pm to 3.30pm
    We begin by discussing body alignment and studying different posture types. Focus is drawn to identifying your own body posture and selecting which exercises suit your body type. Study the importance of roll downs, imprinting and the beginner mat exercise series.

    June
    Anatomy of muscles. Strength and flexibility.
    Saturday 1.30pm to 3.30pm
    Learn how a basic understanding of anatomy will change the way you move. Overview of bones and muscles. Explore types of muscle contractions and opposing muscles. Examine the technique of stretching and enjoy a 45 minute stretch class.

    How to challenge yourself in class
    Saturday - 1.30pm to 3.30pm
    Learn how to adapt and modify exercises for you and your body. Never be bored again as you master ways to challenge yourself as your skills improve. Gain confidence in class and understand the Pilates class road map. Practise the intermediate mat exercise series.

    July
    The Core - your Powerhouse and more
    Saturday 1.30pm to 3.30pm
    This week the importance of abdominal strength will be explored in detail. Ignite your core, unleash your obliques, free your spine and align your hips. We examine the importance of strengthening the powerhouse and aligning the spine and pelvis for movement. Review your technique as we study abdominal, oblique and spinal exercises.

    July
    Knees, Legs and your Butt
    Saturday - 1.30pm to 3.30pm
    Not to be missed. Safely squat, lunge and plie to perfection. Learn to strengthen your legs whilst protecting your knees and reduce the risk of injury. Explore how to activate weak glute (butt) muscles. Gather techniques to use in every class and every day life. Great butt and leg exercise series.

    July
    Shoulders, Arms and Perfecting Pushups
    Saturday - 1.30pm to 3.30pm
    Also known as the second powerhouse you will learn how to keep stable shoulders without straining the neck. Analyse and perfect your push up technique. Then explore the mat arm exercise series to increase your tone.

    July
    Full body movements
    Saturday - 1.30pm to 3.30pm
    It’s time to put it all together. Joining exercises together to create full body movements. Study full body alignment. Practise and review the advanced mat repertoire.
  9. 29th
    July
    Choreography, transitions and flow
    Saturday - 1.30pm to 3.30pm
    Learn innovative choreography and clever transitions to sequence challenging classes using the the Pilates Road Map (PRM). Incorporate exercise blocks, the principals of pilates and flow into every class. Take individual exercises and make them into a class. An introduction to creative cuing.
  10. 5th
    August
    To Cue and Review
    Saturday -1.30pm to 3.30pm
    An introduction to using words to create movement in others. An overview, revisions and questions covering the the entire course.
